Welcome to HotelGuide.Networks' directory of hotels and hotel reviews for Sacramento Valley, California!

The San Joaquin - Sacramento Delta between Sacramento and Stockton distinguishes Sacramento Valley to the north of the San Francisco Bay from San Joaquin Valley to the south. Sacramento is at the south end of Sacramento Valley, and Redding is at the north end, and between them, the city of Chico in Butte County serves as the economic and cultural hub for the region and is located in the northeastern part of Sacramento Valley. With the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range to the east, and the Sacramento River to the west, Chico enjoys a Mediterranean climate year around and some of the richest soil in the world, producing mostly almonds, walnuts, olives, rice, kiwi, plums and peaches. California State University, Chico (also known as Chico State) has an active theatre department and several museums and galleries open to the public. The student presence has attracted a good selection of nightlife alternatives around the university.

Shopping options include the usual full scale malls in the suburban areas which serve the entire region, but are most interesting closer to downtown where the farmers' markets, the better restaurants which shop for their ingredients, and quaint, small shops of all kinds are numerous. Golf courses, and parks of all description, from manicured municipal to wild and rocky, can be found throughout the Sacramento Valley area. Chico is served by the Chico Municipal Airport (CIC) which has express connections primarily with San Francisco, as well as Amtrak and Greyhound. Although some public transportation is available, as well as a campus shuttle service, Chico is well designed for bicycling. Bed and breakfast lodges are numerous in Sacramento Valley, and offer the best vacation value, as well as standard chain hotel options closer to downtown Chico and the university.
